Taking the Scenic Route

“When the spirits are low, when the day appears dark, when work becomes monotonous, when hope hardly seems worth having, just mount a bicycle and go out for a spin down the road, without thought on anything but the ride you are taking.”Sir Arthur Conan Doyle

John Lahner has been riding his bike since 1983, celebrating the Brooklyn Bridge’s 100th anniversary.  On that day he left Levittown, PA, at 2:00 am in the morning and drove to watch the sunrise. He then rode his bike across the Brooklyn Bridge to Manhattan.  This 75 mile ride was the start to his personal commitment to cycling.  John has resided at Juniper Village at Bucks County for the past seven years and rides as often as weather permits.  His average run is 15 miles a day, but with bike-a-thons in the spring and fall he will log 60 to 100 miles.  John has also ridden in charity rides for the Muscular Dystrophy Association and American Cancer Society.
