Lynne Katzmann is Founder and CEO of Juniper Communities, which invests in, develops and manages senior living and long-term care communities.

With 28 properties in five states and more than 1950 employees, Juniper had over $132 million in revenues in 2023. Celebrating its 35th Anniversary in 2023, Juniper is ranked #14 by Crain’s New York on its Top 50 ranking of woman-owned companies for the New York tri-state area.

In May 2019, Lynne was the first winner of the McKnight’s Women of Distinction Lifetime Achievement Award. In January 2020 she was inducted into the American Seniors Housing Association Hall of Fame. The International Council on Active Aging recognized Lynne with the 2022 CEO Pinnacle Award for Best in Wellness Leadership and in 2023 McKnight’s honored her with their Pinnacle Award for Thought Leadership. All of these awards speak to the incredible innovation and vision that Lynne has brought to the senior living industry. Under Lynne’s directorship, Juniper is recognized nationally as a premier senior living provider.

Juniper is the only woman-founded, owned and led business among the top 40 national assisted living companies. Lynne launched the business when she was 32, with six years’ experience in the health care industry and a PhD in economics from the London School of Economics. An active leader in the social entrepreneurship movement at its beginning, she was a firm believer in the so-called double bottom line: doing well by doing good.

Lynne leads an organization known for resident-centered, personalized care. Juniper’s priorities and its many award-winning innovations are consistent with her belief:
“Aging and its challenges are a natural part of our life cycle. Quality of life in this third act should be enjoyed to its fullest according to each person’s choosing. Fostering longevity and vitality through all seasons of life is a hallmark of Juniper’s culture. There is no reason that a frail body should not allow a life of joy and meaning.”

Juniper has been known as a thought leader and innovator within the senior’s housing industry since its inception. Currently Lynne’s focus is two-fold: promoting senior living as a population health solution for that segment of the senior population defined as high care and high needs, and at the same time offering longevity programming and solutions to younger, lower care need seniors. Her brain-child, Juniper’s Connect4Life program has demonstrated outcomes in promoting well-being for the first cohort. And more recently, Juniper’s Catalyst programming is answering the desires of the second cohort.

These results led to the formation of the Perennial Consortium. The Perennial Consortium is a small group of senior living providers which have developed a Medicare Advantage Plan for this special needs population. The MA plan began accepting enrollees in 2021 and is expanding to additional states in 2025.

Lynne has been involved in the health care industry for nearly 40 years, working in the public and private sectors in the United States and Europe. She serves as a board member of several for- profit and non-profit organizations including Sabra Health Care REIT, The Social Venture Network, ArtsConnection, and Naropa University (Secretary).

She lives in New Jersey with her partner, Ed Goodell. She has a son, Andrew, who is also involved in the senior living industry and joined the Juniper leadership team in the fall of 2024.

Chuck has been with Juniper for over 28 years. He is responsible for the financial strength of the company and instrumental in executing Juniper’s growth strategies.

An experienced finance professional, Chuck worked previously for The Winslow Corporation, a real estate syndicator specializing in structuring and placing tax credit limited partnership interests with corporate investors. While at the Winslow Corporation, his responsibilities included proforma development, financial projections, and deal structure and tax credit placement.

Chuck was also employed in a financial capacity for the Mediplex Group, a national operator of skilled nursing homes, and Marakon Associates, a strategic management consulting firm specializing in helping publicly traded companies manage to enhance shareholder value.

Chuck received his Bachelor of Arts in History from Princeton University in 1988 and his MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1994, graduating with a dual major in Health Care Management and Entrepreneurial Management.

As President and Chief Financial Officer, Chuck looks to work with leading financial institutions that understand large financial transactions coupled with high touch client service. He recognizes the changing landscape of healthcare in general and complex healthcare real estate financing in particular. He also works closely with the community based leaders to identify and develop opportunities for revenue success, as a means to drive programming options, partnerships, and quality outcomes.

Chuck has been instrumental in leading Juniper’s efforts to grow via acquisition of distressed or undermanaged properties and driving our efforts to go paperless in our annual audit and tax processes.

He lives in Pennsylvania with this wife Janine. Chuck and Janine are now empty nesters with two kids in college, so they focus all their time on Baker, their Irish Wolfhound. Chuck is a basketball junkie and also enjoys running. He serves on the board of the Lupus Foundation of New Jersey.

Don joined Juniper in 2003 as an Executive Director for an assisted living community in Northeast PA.

In 2006, he was promoted to Special Systems Analyst in which he was responsible for all management reporting, data set administration and integration, and key indicator development for benchmarking and trending of major performance indices including sales & marketing, human resources, quality metrics and financial performance for the entire portfolio.

Don was promoted in 2010 to Vice President of Risk Management & Business Operations and most recently in 2023, to Chief Operating Officer. In this capacity, he continues all quality assurance, information systems and data set management reporting but also handles Juniper insurance programs and risk management for all product lines including risk evaluation, crisis response, assessment and strategic planning.

Additionally, Don provides operational oversight for the regional directors of operations across the portfolio. His current role also includes project management in acquisition and divestiture, operational analysis, new business development and team development/training particularly related to data and quality management and best practices.

Don is responsible for all intellectual technology and Juniper IT platforms including coordination, development and monitoring of all information systems, networks and integration.

Forming the core of Don’s work in positioning Juniper as an innovator within the senior living sector are his depth of knowledge and strategic approach to management of information systems and integration in senior care, performance quality assurance metrics, forecasting future practices of IT in senior living as well as information sharing and security throughout the continuum of care.

One of Don’s passion projects at Juniper has been Juniper’s signature, Green Canopy Program. This is Juniper’s program for environmental sustainability. Green Canopy includes initiatives such as recycling and composting, use of low VOC paints and carpets, paper reduction, elimination of single use plastics, and much more. In 2025, Don was awarded the esteemed McKnight’s Pinnacle Award for Agent of Change in recognition of his incredible efforts.

Prior to joining Juniper, Don was part of the senior management team with Sharon Regional Hospital & Health System Behavioral Health Services. He has also served as a private consultant to numerous agencies providing risk analysis, specialized training, strategic program evaluation, and quality assurance program design and implementation.

Don is originally from Pittsburgh and received his Bachelor’s Degree from West Virginia University where he was the first male student to ever receive a Certificate in Gerontology. He completed his Master’s Degree from Slippery Rock University. Don is a Certified Dementia Practitioner and PA Personal Care Administrator. He serves on the Board of Directors and Finance Committee for the Pennsylvania Health Care Association (PHCA).

He lives in Pennsylvania with his wife, Lori and their dog, Talya. They are empty nesters with three children Madeline, Donnie, Michael, all of whom are now successfully “adulting”. Don plays jazz bass guitar and has volunteered as Treasurer for Little League for many years. He is a present member of the Sharpsville Booster Club.

Anne Campbell has nearly 20 years experience in the senior living industry. She oversees community based operations within Juniper and has been instrumental in the recent successful transition of several newly acquired communities.

Anne joined Juniper in 2014 as part of the acquisition of the Brookline campus in State College, PA. Anne had served as executive director of the campus, beginning under the previous owners in 2006. Anne continued in that role through 2018. In late 2018, Anne joined the Juniper home office leadership team as National Director of Special Projects and was promoted to Vice-President of Operations in 2023. In early 2025, Anne received the McKnight’s Women of Distinction Hall of Honor Award, in recognition of her contributions to both Juniper and the senior living industry as a whole. 

Anne has overseen the development, trademarking, and expansion of Juniper’s Connect4Life program. The program is now being implemented in multiple senior living communities outside Juniper. She has recently updated the program and trained all of Juniper’s teams across the portfolio. This program been recognized as an innovation within the industry and a tremendous value add for residents and families.

In addition, in her role as the Vice-President of Operations, Anne oversees operations for all of the Northeast region. She also coaches, trains, and mentors regional directors of operations. In this role, Anne provides operational support and oversight of the independent living, personal care, memory care, and skilled nursing buildings on the campus. 

Anne has been instrumental in Juniper’s growth as a management company and operator. She successfully managed the transition of a four-building portfolio in the Northeast, with each building achieving significant census, financial, and quality improvements in the first year. 

Anne holds a Bachelors Degree in Social Work (BSW) from Bloomsbury University. Anne is involved with organizations that advocate for quality of life for older adults both locally and nationally. Anne has served as a senior quality award examiner for the American Healthcare Association and serves on the board for the Assisted Living/Personal Care division of the Pennsylvania Health Care Association and the Centre County Geriatric Network.

Anne lives in Pennsylvania with her husband, Jim, a programmer analyst for Penn State Libraries. They have two children, both students at Penn State University. They enjoy time outdoors in the beautiful Mount Nittany area.

Amy Purcell has over 15 years experience in senior living. She is that exceptional leader who has both sales and operations experience, although sales is her passion. Amy Joined Juniper in January of 2021.

She was initially hired as the Regional Director of Sales for the northeast region, but in less than one year was promoted to National Director of Sales. And as of 2024, she was further promoted to Vice President of Sales and Marketing In her role, Amy is responsible for overall census growth across the portfolio. She has been successful in achieving growth through development of enhanced sales training, honing sales process, leading the adoption of a new CRM, and creating and operationalizing new performance benchmarks. Amy has also created advanced reporting to drive revenue success.

In addition, Amy is also responsible for all marketing and messaging efforts at Juniper. She has spearheaded greater integration between digital platforms utilized for both marketing and sales and is focused on updating all marketing initiatives at Juniper, with an eye to the next generation of senior living.

Amy began her career in long-term care as a nursing home administrator. Before joining Juniper, she was a regional sales and marketing director for a mid-size senior housing provider covering the mid-Atlantic states for over 10 years.

She earned her undergraduate degree in healthcare administration and a master’s degree in business administration at Villanova University. In addition to her Nursing Home Administrator license, Amy also holds a personal care home administrator license and an assisted living residence administrator license in the state of PA. She also holds the Certified Assisted Living designation through the New Jersey Department of Health. 

Amy enjoys traveling and relaxing with her family at the beach.

Andrew Katzmann has over nine years’ experience in the senior housing industry. Prior to joining Juniper in fall 2024, Andrew spent his professional career working on the financial side of the senior housing industry at two REITs. During his tenure with these two organizations, Andrew managed various portfolios, with a total value of approximately $5B. He was instrumental in driving financial performance for the properties within those portfolios.

Andrew essentially grew up in the world of senior living in general and at Juniper specifically. As Lynne Katzmann’s son, he spent time at many of Juniper’s buildings with Lynne and learned the basics of community operations, resident life, and Juniper culture. However, he was not always certain that his path would lead him to a role at Juniper.

Andrew graduated in 2016 from Tulane University, with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. It was while working exclusively on the finance side of the industry for eight years that Andrew realized he missed the “people” and the operational side of the business. In early 2024, he was invited to discussions with Juniper’s leadership team about a potential new role, ultimately leading to being hired that fall.

Andrew works directly with Chuck Hastings to build relationships with leading financial institutions that understand large financial transactions coupled with high touch client service. He seeks to leverage Juniper’s culture of innovation and high level service provision to the benefit of other financial institutes and industry related REITs.

After spending almost a decade on the West Coast working for senior housing capital providers, Andrew is excited to be back on the East Coast where he is closer to friends and family. Outside of work, Andrew enjoys trying new restaurants and traveling to new places. 

Rikki Goldenberg is a highly accomplished healthcare executive with over 25 years of experience in the industry and oversees Juniper’s signature Catalyst program. 

Rikki joined the Juniper team as the Catalyst Implementation Specialist in January 2024 and was promoted the following year to National Director of Catalyst, responsible for scaling and refining the Catalyst model to serve both residents and nonresidents of Juniper Villages. Her responsibilities include enhancing the program offerings and ensuring the technological infrastructure supports the program’s success. Rikki has implemented a resident and family facing software program to improve communication and increase engagement among our Juniper families, while also streamlining workflows for our teams.

Rikki has spent her entire career working in healthcare, from providing direct-care therapy services to children and adolescents to working at the largest health insurer in the United States. Through her work, Rikki has honed a diverse skill set including system implementations, product development, operations leadership, and driving efficiency within healthcare organizations. 

Prior to joining Juniper, Rikki spent several years working with start-up companies focused on improving the health and wellness of their customers, excelling in end-to-end product development, operations, and organizational design. Her visionary leadership and strategic insights have been instrumental in shaping successful and innovative healthcare solutions from inception to implementation.

Rikki holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Education, both from the University of Florida. She is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and volunteers time at a sleepaway camp during the summer to help campers with their anxiety. 

Rikki lives with her two teenage children in sunny South Florida and enjoys spending time with friends and family, travelling, cuddling with her two dogs and cheering on her Florida Gators.
